Why do two people with the same diagnosis experience completely different outcomes? Why do some people recover quickly while others continue to struggle despite doing everything they’ve been told? Why do conventional tests sometimes fail to explain how someone feels?
Those questions have guided my career for nearly two decades.
I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and my Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama. I later became a Certified Practitioner through the Institute for Functional Medicine, expanding my understanding of how genetics, nutrition, metabolism, lifestyle, and environmental factors work together to influence health.
Throughout my career, I’ve cared for patients in primary care, urgent care, telemedicine, functional medicine, and military medicine. Every setting reinforced the same lesson: people are more complex than their diagnoses, and there is rarely a one-size-fits-all approach to health.
Today, my passion is education.
Whether I’m writing about Gilbert’s syndrome, pharmacogenetics, nutrition, or precision health, my goal is to make complex medical science understandable and practical without sacrificing scientific accuracy.
I believe informed patients ask better questions, make better decisions, and become better partners in their healthcare. I hope the resources you find here help you do exactly that.
